Friends of ligita are organising this extraordinary studio live session with Paul O'Dette at Little Big Beat Studios on the Sunday after ligita. 

Paul O'Dette (lute, theorbo, baroque guitar) has been called "the greatest genius of his instrument" (Toronto Globe and Mail). He is regarded as one of the world's leading lutenists, known for his technical and stylistic excellence in early music. O'Dette embodies  historical awareness, fidelity to the works, and expressive power. His festival performances are often highlights, and he is renowned for his solo recitals and recordings of Renaissance lute music. He is also a sought-after continuo player, collaborating with  top ensembles and conductors.

 

O'Dette is passionate about research and has led the Early Music department at the Eastman School of Music since 1976. He is the artistic director of the Boston Early Music Festival. His discography includes over 100 recordings, many of which have received  prestigious awards and nominations.
