Margarita Escarpa

"A first-class artist," said María Luisa Anido when she heard Margarita Escarpa play for the first time. Since then, Margarita has consistently achieved great success and won important awards at international competitions, including first prize at the 20th Solo Guitar Competition of the Guitar Foundation of America, considered the most prestigious guitar competition in the world. In 2021, she received the Spanish awards "Guitarrista José Tomás 2021 Villa de Petrer" and, in 2023, the "Premio European Guitar Foundation 2023" Granada, which are awarded to outstanding personalities in the world of guitar.     

 

Margarita performs regularly at major international festivals and prestigious venues in Europe, America, and Asia, where she is acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. She is now considered one of the greatest classical guitarists of our time, distinguished by her outstanding musicality and exceptional sensitivity and finesse.   

 

As a solo artist, she has recorded CDs for RTVE (Spanish Radio and Television Group), Opera Tres, Naxos, La Ma de Guido, and GHA Records. 

 

Margarita is a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she is well known as a dedicated and successful teacher.
